Laser hardening – Laser hardening is an innovative technology that is increasingly gaining a foothold in industrial production. The outstanding attraction of this thermal surface layer process is the concentrated heat input. Since the part is only minimally heated, distortion is reduced and in many cases avoided altogether. Our laser hardening machines are suitable for processing small-to-medium sized parts (max. weight: 2 t). Our customers are at home in a wide range of industries, including toolmaking, mechanical engineering, mould making, paper & packaging and textiles. Steels containing more than 0.3% carbon as well as cast iron and sintered materials are ideal for laser-hardening. The hardening depth is typically between 0.8 and 1.5 mm. |
